2. Application Areas:
Methanol is a fundamental organic raw material used primarily in the production of formaldehyde, acetic acid, chloromethane, methylamine, methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE), and dimethyl sulfate, among other organic products. It also serves as a raw material for pesticides (insecticides, acaricides) and pharmaceuticals (sulfonamides, antibiotics, etc.). Additionally, it is a raw material for the synthesis of dimethyl terephthalate, methyl methacrylate, and acrylic acid methyl ester. Methanol is also an important solvent and can be blended with gasoline as an alternative fuel.
3. Usage Precautions:
Store in a cool, well-ventilated, dedicated warehouse away from fire sources and heat. The storage temperature should not exceed 37°C, and containers should be kept sealed. Methanol should be stored separately from oxidants, acids, alkali metals, and other substances, avoiding mixed storage. Use explosion-proof lighting and ventilation facilities. Avoid using mechanical equipment and tools that can generate sparks. The storage area should be equipped with emergency leak handling equipment and appropriate containment materials.
